Jerry Buss

Saddened this weekend to hear about the passing of Lakers owner, Jerry Buss.  He was a phenomenal man and a great limit Hold’em player.  He held his own against the BEST in the world.  In 1997, I found myself at Lakers Training Camp in Hawaii with Shaq, Kobe Bryant, Johnny Chan, Buss, and others.  We played $400-$800 Hold’em in Jerry’s Presidential Suite at the Prince Hotel.  Chan and I lost $35,000 each, and Jerry won $70,000!

I was prickly for a day, but Jerry gave me and friends floor seats for Lakers training and put a smile on my face.  JB = class act!
